We want to take a moment here at Piryx and bring attention to the recent flooding that has inundated Pakistan. The flooding, caused by massive rain and monsoons, has displaced roughly 20 million people, destroyed countless homes, and submerged one-fifth of the country.

Exacerbating the situation is the fact that authorities won’t be able to fully assess the destruction done until months after the flooding has rescinded.

The haunting images of mourning victims you may have seen online or in the news only tell part of the part the story though. While the flooding has receded, the damaging after-effects could include food shortages, infrastructure, and disease. Many around the world have heeded the call and played their various parts in trying to help, but the people of Pakistan will need all the support they can get.

We want to bring awareness to this issue, and encourage you to take initiative. Check and see if there’s an organization in your area offering relief efforts to Pakistan, and get involved. You may even start your own non-profit. Or take a few minutes to fill out a Facebook page. We hope you take the time to give a moment for Pakistan.
